Border Crossing
“Border Crossing” will create borders involving the visual, physical and conceptual, and will be presented as free-flowing, un-stretched painting, in multiple strips and panels, creating a dynamic installation within and upon architecture. Utilizing traditional Japanese fabrics, burlap, silk-screened and hand-painted images, and particular references to maps and the history of Sapporo, the artist will create an indoor/outdoor exhibition that will alert the viewer to their understanding of borders and what it means to create a border, how borders shift, how borders can be porous, and how others are impenetrable.
